How to Download Ebooks from SVA Library: On a Mobile Device

Instructions on how to access ebooks from our databases, including on a desktop or laptop computer, on a mobile device, and on an e-reader tablet.

Create an Adobe ID

Download the Bluefire Reader app or Adobe Digital Editions:
Bluefire Reader iPhone ($3.99)
Bluefire Reader Android ($2.99)

Adobe Digital Editions iPhone (Free)
Adobe Digital Editons Android (Free)

To search for ebooks, visit the library website on your mobile device and use the search bar to look up a book title. Or, visit our Databases page and click into Ebook Central Academic Complete.

When you've found an ebook you want, click the Download link.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Follow the steps to download the ebook. If you already have Adobe Digital Editions installed, tap 'Skip this step.' Then select the length of the loan. The ebook will expire from your device when the loan period ends:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tap 'Download' and then navigate to the Downloads folder on your device:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Select the file you want to read, the tap the share icon at bottom left (square with up arrow). Options for sharing the file will pop up; tap the 'More' icon from the list of apps:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Select Adobe Digital Editions or Bluefire Reader from the list of apps. In this example, Bluefire Reader was selected. The book will download to the app and appear in the app's dashboard:
