How to Download Ebooks from SVA Library: Home

Instructions on how to access ebooks from our databases, including on a desktop or laptop computer, on a mobile device, and on an e-reader tablet.

Ebooks at SVA Library

The SVA Library subscribes to several databases containing ebooks. Most are from the provider EBSCO, and there are several ways to access these ebooks, including on a desktop or laptop computer, on a mobile device, and on an e-reader tablet. Use the tabs above for device-specific instructions.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST DOWNLOAD

  1. Create a free My EBSCOhost account in the Academic eBooks Collection (click Sign In on the menu at top right, and then Create a New Account). You will need this account to download ebooks from any EBSCO database.
  2. Create a free Adobe ID to use with Adobe Digital Editions on your computer and to use with the Bluefire Reader on your mobile device.

*Note that most ACLS Humanities ebooks cannot be downloaded and must be read in the database interface with an Internet connection.
